TPS — Form I-821
If your country has active TPS, you may request temporary protection in the United States and review whether you want to include a work permit. At Etika, we organize country, dates, evidence and forms to move forward with order.
What it is
Temporary protection for people whose country is not safe for return.
TPS is a temporary immigration status for people from countries designated by the U.S. government because of war, natural disasters, or humanitarian crises. In simple terms: it may allow you to live legally in the U.S. while the program remains active and, if applicable, request an EAD.
The key to TPS is proving eligibility with clear and consistent documents.
When it is used
TPS is reviewed when you need temporary protection and your country has an active designation.
Current designation
We confirm whether your country has active TPS and which dates apply.
Entry and presence
We review whether you were in the U.S. from the date required by USCIS.
Work permit
If you want to work legally, we can also organize Form I-765.
Future extensions
When the program is extended, renewal windows are reviewed.
Who can request it
Eligibility depends on your country, presence in the U.S., dates and background.
A citizen of a country with active TPS may request it if they are physically filing in the United States, meet the required dates, do not have certain serious background issues, and respect the established registration period.
